Tema-based rapper Kwaw Kese, popularly referred to as the King of the Streets, has dared artistes in Accra to bring their game on, as he threatens to tame them single handedly on November 24.
It’s the 2012 Joy FM Nite with the Stars, arguably the only show that annually amasses the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian music onto one stage, and on one night.
Organisers of the grand event dubbed The Big Clash, have explained that Accra and Tema are being pitched against each other “to settle the score once and for all as to which of these two cities is the stronghold when it comes to hiplife music.”
But Kwaw Kese, Abodam (the Man Insane) speaking on the Super Morning Show Friday believes there is no score to settle because Tema always rules supreme when it comes to music.
“Accra is really big,” he said, adding, “Tema is small but the small axe is always cutting down the big tree that is what we are coming to do this time. If it’s even me alone, I will deal [with] all the Accra [artistes].”
'El Clasico'
Dobble and Dr Slim, who were also on the show, downplayed Kwew Kese's boastful stance, saying, “Accra is the ish, everything dey Accra, Tema is too small. Call it El Clasico … it is Messi against Christiano Ronaldo.”
“Tune [into] ten radio stations and I bet you nine of them will be playing Tema sounds,” Kwaw Kese rebutted.
On the night, Dancehall legend Samini, representing Accra will slag it out with Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner, Sarkodie while two-time Ghana Music Awards winner, VIP will faceoff with Kwaw Kese.
There will be similar competitions between Buk Bak and R2Bees, Eazzy and Tiffany, D-Black and E.L., and Dobble and Keche.
The 2012 Joy FM Nite with the Stars, which comes off at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on November 24, is sponsored by MTN, Schweppes Malt and Techno Phones.
