President John Dramani Mahama has been fingered to be in bed with one Mr. Andrew Solomon, a gay lobbyist. |
Andrew Solomon is the founder of the Solomon
Research Fellowship for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender (LGBT) located at the Yale University in Connecticut, USA.
He is known to be a strong financier of gay advocacy and a formidable gay lobbyist worldwide.
Pastor Amos Kevin-Anane, Student Councellor of the Pentecost University, in an interview on Citi FM’s Eye Witness News on Thursday, indicated that per an extensive research he has conducted, there is a link at the presidency to Andrew Solomon.
He said this is an attempt to push the gay agenda in the country, knowing that ‘super powers’ like America and others have accepted it.
The issues of homosexuality has become a matter of controversy in the country especially as the President nominated, Nana Oye Lithur, minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection; a woman alleged to have supported the rights of homosexuals: something she has come out to deny.
The issue which seems not to be dying has come up again this time implicating the President.
According to Amos Kevin-Anane, who is also a youth activist, the President needs to come out as a matter of urgency to publicly declare his stance on the raging national debate on gay and lesbian rights and to also make a commitment to protect the socio-cultural practice in the country which strongly stands against gays, lesbians and bisexuals.

He argues
that since some of the President's predecessors had set the example by
publicly declaring their stance on the legalization of lesbianism and
gayism, it was important that he does same.
Basis Of Claim
Explaining the basis of his research, he said when President Mahama launched his autobiography: ‘My First Coup d’etat, at the Schomburg Centre of Research in Black Culture at Harlem, New York, Andrew Solomon who is also a prolific writer was one of his guests and was seated with him ‘alone’ on the podium.
On government’s official website (www.ghana.gov.gh), there are several pictures of proceedings at the book launch, including exclusives of President Mahama and Mr. Solomon.
Amos Kevin Anane said: “I was saddened when I realized that he is closely associated with the presidency of the Republic of Ghana. Lobbyists don’t just lobby for fun, they are not just there as friends, they are there to push their interests. They are pushing states and organizations including the UN to pounce heavily on countries against gays. That is why we need to call on President Mahama to publicly make a statement to our sociocultural values. It is time for Christians to call for order…”
However, speaking on Okay FM, spokesperson for the President, John Jinapor, has denied the involvement of the President in any act of lobbying for gays and lesbians.
