Ghana winger Albert Adomah believes he is a better player now after adopting a new role in
Adomah has been filling in a full-back this season and scored his first goal since October on Tuesday to snatch all three points for The Riverside based side. The result saw Middlesborough strengthen their position in 2nd place remaining just two points off leaders Derby County in the English Championship.
Adomah, 27, told the Evening Gazette : “I have played in a very different role this season, but it has definitely, definitely developed me as a player.
“I have been working harder, keeping the shape, tackling back, taking responsibility – I’m a better player now.
“I know some supporters want to see me entertain and run at players and unfortunately that hasn’t been the case this season. But if the manager wants me to play in a certain role, then I am happy to do it for the team.
“I think I am more selfless now. When the manager plays me out of position I just go with the flow and do my best and, to be fair, you can’t really complain because it is working. When you are in your rightful position it is nice too, of course, but you have to just do whatever you can for the team.”
Adomah was part of Ghana’s provisional AFCON 2015 squad but pulled out due to injury.
